We're all relatively new to DW, and that means we're likely going to meet a lot of new people. But, where to start? How can we break the ice and get to know each other?

- Your favorite genre/s: Fantasy of any sort, space opera, and alternate history.
- Your favorite author/s: Neil Gaiman, Susanna Clarke, Michael Chabon, Terry Pratchett, Clive Barker, Alan Moore, Neal Stephenson, Stephen King, J.R.R. Tolkien, Robert E. Howard, Iain M. Banks...I'm forgetting some, I know for sure.
- Your favorite book/s: Gaiman's Sandman series, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, Abarat, Lord of the Rings. Many, many, many more.
- Your favorite character/s: There are a lot, but the first one that comes to mind is Sam Vimes from Pratchett's Discworld series.
- Least favorite book/s: Anything Ayn Rand has ever written.
- Least favorite characters: Don't really have any.
- Recommended reading: I recently read Terry Pratchett's The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents for the first time, and I now intend to read it to my future children.
Writing
- What do you write: Long original fiction, mostly.
- Your favorite genre/s to write: Anything that falls under the broad umbrella of SF, from space opera to magic realism to horror to steampunk.
- Do you write fanfiction? Sometimes. I've written Doctor Who, Marvel Comics, Star Trek, Metal Gear Solid and Abarat fanfic, all very short and self-contained.
- Do you write original fiction? A lot of it.
- Current project: Oh, man! Don't get me started. I have about three novels going, and two novellas.
- An area you'd like to improve in: Time management, editing, plotting, not getting bored and dumping the current thing for a new shiny.
- An accomplishment you're proud of: Writing 30,000 words of fiction in three days for a writing challenge.
Other
- Hobbies: Writing, complaining about writing, my fandoms, tabletop roleplaying, and casual gaming (Warcraft, console games).
- What's in your journal? Not much yet, but I'll soon be posting about fandom and writing stuff.
- Why did you move to DW? It seemed friendly and awesome, and I liked the sense of community that's already growing.
- Favorite energy drink? ...tea?
