- Your favorite genre/s: Fiction in general? I have books I love and hate in all genres. - Your favorite author/s: Diana Wynne Jones, Neil Gaiman, Jane Austen, etc... - Your favorite book/s: Life of Pi, Pride and Prejudice, assorted non-fiction on pathology - Your favorite character/s: I'm irrationally fond of Dustfinger, from Inkheart. - Least favorite book/s: I have never been able to read any book in first-person. It's a complex. - Least favorite characters: Vanyel? Was that his name? It's been a while since I read anything Mercedes Lackey wrote. - Recommended reading: Inkheart, Inkspell (haven't read Inkdeath yet, sorry!), Coldfire trilogy, The Omnivore's Dilemma, Life of Pi.
Writing
- What do you write: (ex: fiction, poems, songs, etc.) - Your favorite genre/s to write: Fantasy, sci-fi - Do you write fanfiction? (if yes, what fandom?) Yes. Lately mostly Lackadaisy and Vinland Saga. (My only forays into historical fiction.) - Do you write original fiction? Yes. - Current project: Two! A children's book, and an adult pseudo-post-apocalyptic fantasy. - An area you'd like to improve in: Dialogue. I feel like my dialogue is really weak. It's a struggle. - An accomplishment you're proud of: Every time I finish something, from a haiku to a major work!
Other
- Hobbies: Haha, normally I'd put "writing" here. Reading books on pathology (a lot of flu books, mostly, since that seems to be written about the most. I'm still waiting on my mad cow books to arrive!) and on death (I highly recommend Stiff, by Mary Roach. Fascinating read.). And I'm a finishing art major, so I do a lot of drawing. - What's in your journal? Right now mostly reviews. I haven't ported over my fic yet. - Why did you move to DW? I like having multiple backups, online and off. Dreamwidth is another backup, and a way to keep in contact with DW only friends. - Favorite energy drink? I can't drink them. - Anything else? Not really? Hi, I'm Boots and I have somewhat morbid interests that seem rather out of character with my overly cheerful icon?
